  • Bit Depth: 16-bit
  • Channels: Mono (1 channel)
  • Encoding: Linear PCM

Audio Processing Options

The Audio Converter provides several processing options to optimize your audio files:

Normalization

Audio normalization ensures consistent volume levels across all your prompts, which is crucial for a professional sounding IVR. The tool offers three normalization options:

  • Standard (Recommended): Normalizes to -3 dB, providing good volume while preventing distortion
  • Maximum Volume: Normalizes to -0.1 dB, maximizing volume (may introduce distortion in some cases)
  • No Normalization: Leaves the audio unchanged (not recommended unless pre-processed)

Noise Reduction

The noise reduction feature helps remove background noise from audio recordings:

  • Minimal: Light noise reduction suitable for clean recordings
  • Moderate (Recommended): Balanced noise reduction for most recordings
  • Aggressive: Strong noise reduction for problematic recordings (may affect audio quality)
  • None: No noise reduction applied

Silence Trimming

Silence trimming removes unnecessary silence from the beginning and end of audio files:

  • Trim Silence (Recommended): Automatically removes silence beyond a threshold
  • Keep Original: Preserves the original audio without trimming

Best Practices

Follow these guidelines for optimal results with the Audio Converter:

  • Use high-quality source files: Start with the highest quality audio available
  • Check file size: Keep individual files under 10MB for optimal processing
  • Use meaningful filenames: Clear names help identify files in Studio
  • Apply normalization: Always use normalization for consistent caller experience
  • Preview before importing: Listen to converted files before importing into Studio
  • Process similar files together: For consistent sound quality across related prompts
  • Use batch processing: Convert multiple files at once for efficiency

Batch Processing

The Audio Converter supports batch processing, allowing you to convert multiple files simultaneously:

  1. Upload multiple files using the multi-file upload feature
  2. Apply the same conversion settings to all files
  3. Process all files with a single click
  4. Download all converted files as a ZIP archive

Batch processing is limited to 20 files at a time for free accounts, while Pro users can process up to 100 files simultaneously.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with the Audio Converter, try these solutions:

  • File too large: Files over 10MB may cause timeouts. Try compressing or shortening the audio.
  • Conversion fails: Ensure the file is not corrupt and is in a supported format.
  • Poor audio quality: Start with a higher quality source file or adjust the noise reduction settings.
  • Output too quiet: Use the "Maximum Volume" normalization setting.
  • Studio import issues: Confirm you're downloading the converted WAV file, not the original.
  • Browser crashes: Processing many large files simultaneously may overload your browser. Try converting fewer files at once.

Studio Integration

After converting your audio files, you can easily import them into NICE CXone Studio:

  1. In Studio, open your script or create a new one
  2. Navigate to the Audio Resources section
  3. Click "Import Resource"
  4. Browse to your converted WAV file and select it
  5. Provide a name for the audio resource
  6. The audio file is now available for use in your script
